TechPAWlogy - FAQ

How do I register for campus workshops this year?

  • Just show up; no registration is required.
  • You'll actually "sign-in" for each class AFTER completing the required work.

When are campus workshops offered?

  • Some are during your regular conference period.
  • Some are before and after school.
  • Find a workshop that interests you on the Calendar.

Where will each workshop be held?

  • At Adams - lab 201
  • At Arnold - lab 116
  • Any last-minute room changes will be announced via email.

How long will each workshop last?

  • It depends; some tools require a "long" session of instruction, about 45 - 50 minutes.
  • Others require only a "short" session, about 20 minutes.

If I miss or cannot attend a workshop, will I be able to "make it up" and still receive credit?

  • Absolutely.  The actual sit-in session won't be repeated, but each workshop will have a tutorial video and/or handout to guide you through the work.
  • You'll still have the opportunity to ask questions and receive help via the workspace.  As a last resort, yes, I'll walk you through any problem you may experience while doing your assignment - after school only.

So, can I complete ALL of the work on my own without having to physically sit in a workshop session?

  • Absolutely.  No need to come to class if you can figure it out on your own.  With some patience, most teachers can earn credit this way.
  • Workshop sessions, however, are the ONLY times where you can get face-to-face, direct instruction.

How will I know when I'm finished with my required hours?

  • First, you won't receive any credit until you actually do the work.
  • Since all of your completed work will be posted on your Classwork page, you can easily keep track of what you've finished and what you haven't.  It's your personal checklist.
  • Each activity will be assessed, and the coding system (explained on the class Roster) will provide a quick status check of every activity.
  • I'll send an email confirmation after you've completed everything.  At that time, you'll actually "sign-in" for each workshop.

Do I still have to register in Eduphoria?

  • Yes, your official credit will be granted via Eduphoria Workshop.
  • The session, [Campus] Campus-Based Technology is usually not available until later in the year.  You must register for this session, but unless you have completed all the work and earned your points, you won't receive any credit - even if you register!

Will I be docked any pay should I not receive my campus-based technology hours?

No. These hours are part of your professional development and growth, and the majority are earned during contract hours.  Failure to obtain these hours by March 11  will be reflected only on your PDAS.
