Google Custom Search Engine

Page history last edited by Michelle Smith 13 years ago

Create search engine for a particular unit/topic.

  1. This activity is worth 1 point and is a "short" session activity.  (Acquiring the websites to use may require a little work.)

     2.  Register for a free Google account (use your school email address) and get started.

     3.  Use this tool to create -

    • A Google search engine that only allows students to view results from pre-selected sites.

     4. Copy and paste your search engine's URL  (web address) on your Classwork page and include the Unit & Lesson where integrating

this tool can enhance instruction.  If you prefer, you can embed your search engine instead - like below.

     5.  Add "Google Custom Search Engine" on the Class Roster, so I'll know that you're finished.

EXAMPLE SHOWN ABOVE: 6th grade social studies

    • CSCOPE Unit 9  Lesson 2
    • Explore - Students explore a cultural trait of a South Asian country using their textbook and other classroom materials.

If you want, also check out the Google Wonder Wheel - another great research feature.
